Budget played a rather large roll in this, but mostly convenience. I live in San Francisco, so practical and convenient mobility is essential. At first, I wanted to get a bike, but decided against that because I did not want to risk it getting stolen, but mainly because a new [decent] bicycle trended towards being crazy expensive. I wanted something that I could take out, get me from A to B, then occasionally to C, back to A again, then fold it up and put it out of the way. My attention was turned to kick scooters. I spent nearly two weeks researching scooters because I didn't want some cheap Razor, they are made for kids after all. I stumbled upon Go-Ped, at first I didn't know they made kick scooters, and was pleased to find out that their kick scooters were affordable and primarily made for adults! This immediately shied me away from the Xootr, my first choice, because if its cost and in most cases it couldn't hold a candle to the Go-Ped in the comparative reviews on Amazon. Initially, I was torn between the Super Grow-Ped and the Know-Ped, because I knew that the Grow-Ped models were smaller and more compact but were intended for children, and that the Know-Ped models were decidedly built for adults.
